At the time of registration for the service, the customer gets the option to opt for either regular or casual (on-request) pickups.

Under regular pickups, the three cycles available:

  • Weekly (once in 7days)
  • Fortnightly (once in 14 days)
  • Once in 4 weeks

  • How do I pay?

    For regular pickups - once you receive the invoice through Internet banking or cash.
    For casual pickups - same day of the service through internet banking.
    You need to add your address or customer code in the transaction reference field.

  • Do I have to be home at collection time?

    No. If you have a wheelie bin place it outside by the kerb.

  • What are collection days in Ashburton?

    Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

  • What does regular collection mean?

    Your collection is on a regular schedule ; weekly, fortnightly or once in a 4-week cycle. You don’t need to ring us for this, we will come and empty bins on the set days.

  • What does casual collection mean?

    You ring when bin is full - you are not on a regular schedule.

  • I am on a casual service, how do I inform you about the next day collection?

    Dial us one day before expected pickup and leave a message on answer machine (03 308 6158) or text 027 228 7336.

  • What should I say when ringing for collection service?

    Clearly mention your name, address and whether your request is to collect a garden bin or a household rubbish bin.

  • What can't I put in my bin?

    Bricks, concrete, dirt, liquids, or hazardous waste.

  • How much can I put in my bin?

    No more than the top of the bin with a weight limit of 45kg.

  • If I have a wheelie, what time does it have to be out by?

    In normal circumstances, 7 am on the collection day.
